Pitman relishing Woking challenge

Hereford United head to Woking on Monday for a Conference clash set to be screened by Sky Sports 1, kick off 7.45pm (not 8.05pm as reported elsewhere).

The game marks the return of midfielder Jamie Pitman to the Kingfield following his summer move to the Bulls, where he is currently top scorer after five matches with four goals.

"It could not have been a better start for me. Everyone enjoys scoring goals and the spirit at the club is brilliant, too," said Pitman in today's Hereford Times.

Of Woking, he commented: "They have got some good players, so we know that it will be a difficult match. But we played really well in our 3-0 win at Nuneaton."

Cards boss Geoff Chapple told strictlyconference.com: “It’s great for us being on SKY because we can put the club in the right image. Not many people, certainly in the non-league game, have not heard of Woking Football Club and to play Hereford is a great one for us. They are former Football League members being in front of the cameras it gives us an opportunity to put the club in the public eye.

“People can see that we are a thriving club and that we’ve got a lovely stadium and we want to do it right. We want the product to be right on the pitch and between Hereford and ourselves we hope to produce a cracking match to show people the quality of the Conference.”

Woking receive around £5,000 and Hereford will be paid about £2,000 by SKY.
