News Round Up

Boston boss Steve Evans expects his team to be "held aloft and carried back into Boston as heroes" if they win their survival battle with Wrexham tomorrow. The club will travel today after a club sponsor again paid up for an overnight stay and coach travel however reports circulating are putting Evans in charge of Chester as early as next week.

Chester chairman Stephen Vaughan has taken a swipe at fans' favourite for the manager's post, Peter Jackson. Jackson told the local press that he would be interested, but had not applied. Vaughan described the lack of an application as 'a slight on the club' and will not consider candidates that have not applied. The club's ex-Rushden defender Graham Allen has retired through injury after a torrid 12 month at the Deva Stadium.

Bury may fall foul of Football League rules after having made tomorrow's final match with Mansfield a £5 entry game, but for home fans only. FL rules expect home and away fans to be charged the same price for the same types of entry. Bradford will sell Dean Windass before their entry to League Two next season, but only at the right price. Hull City currently have the player in on loan, but he has two years left on his current contract.
