MK Dons have formally released the history of the former Wimbledon FC to their former home.
The borough of Merton, the 'spiritual' home of Wimbledon FC at Plough Lane, will be named as the centre of all things Wimbledon pre-2004 after an historic agreement. The MK Dons club has agreed that all history, prior to August 2004, will be returned - including the replica FA Cup - to the London borough that spawned the ultimate non-league side.
The agreement, brokered by the Football Supporters Federation, sees a three year ban on FSF members visiting the new club lifted and fans of MK Dons finally being admitted to the FSF. From now on, MK Dons will have only existed since their first match with Barnsley in August 2004.
