Bluebirds Left With Two Fit Strikers

Cardiff will go into Sunday's game with just two fit strikers after Matt Green was sent on loan to Oxford.

The former Newport man played at Edgar Street for Darlington earlier in the season, as a late sub as the Bulls' ran out 5-1 winners, but his chances at Ninian Park have been limited since he arrived 12 months ago.

His departure leaves just Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Steven Thompson as fit strikers. Thompson is on the transfer list and is usually the man that comes on to replace veteran Hasselbaink, who rarely finishes a full 90 minutes. Ex-Bull Paul Parry is expected to play as a makeshift striker again, a position that has seen him score three times in as many games.

Forwards Steven MacLean and Jason Byrne have already departed the club in the transfer window, with Robbie Fowler and Warren Feeney injured. However the Bulls' own forward options are not expected to be much better.

With Trevor Benjamin expected to play, albeit carrying an injury that will require rest at some stage, and Simon Johnson doubtful Graham Turner may look to Steve Guinan to make a return from injury - if only from the bench.
