Hereford United manager Graham Turner told BBC Hereford and Worcester that his players thought that this afternoon's referee might have cost the Bulls the game.
"The lads are very upset by a couple of the referee's decisions," said Turner.
"They felt there was no doubt about the first goal when the lad came back from an offside position and there was another decision when Kenny Lunt went through the middle and was brought down.
"It was felt then if the referee had blown for a free-kick he would have to had sent the lad off.
"I think in the second-half we had a real good go. I have no complaints about the way we played. Might have been a bit brighter in front of goal from some of the good positions we had."
The winning goal was scored in injury time.
"It was Adam Bartlett who came and punched and it was still twenty yards out. It was a terrific dipping volley that killed us off in the end.
"You can't do anything about that. All you can do is hold your hand up and say that was a terrific strike. It would have been a good goal at any level of football.
"I think Dagenham have had a very good season. John Still has got them organised, very direct, they are a handfull.
"I think it is a terrific achievement to be in contention for a play-off place at this stage."
