Pitman welcomes Lawrence Appointment

Hereford United manager Jamie Pitman has welcomed the appointment of Lennie Lawrence as director of football at Edgar Street.

"To have someone like Lennie with that experience and calibre is going to be great for me and the club," Pitman told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"He has been in similar situations in the past. It is something that perhaps we have needed over the last few weeks to help us along the way.

"Obviously I am very pleased that the board feel I am able to take the job on.

"I am looking to continue on in the same vein of form that we have been in. Hopefully we can continue to improve and get some wins on the board.

"The uncertainty is now done and dusted and hopefully that will help the players. I am also hoping that it will also help us get to where we want to be which is out of the places we are in at the moment and to some sort of safety."
