Ever since joining the Football League Yeovil Town has recorded a profit.
Their latest accounts, to the end of June 2007, show a profit of £112,764 which compares with a profit of £123,543 the previous year.
In the last four years a total profit of £605,000 has been achieved which is similar to that recorded at Edgar Street in recent years.
However turnover is twice as high compared with Hereford at around £3.90M and Yeovil had over £1.1M in the bank or in hand at year end.
As well as a higher turnover Yeovil's wage bill, nearly £2.4M, is well above that at Edgar Street. This is mainly because of more players and employees at Huish Park.
A total of 81 employees included 32 playing staff, 19 management and admin, 11 stadium and maintenance and 19 catering staff were said to work at Yeovil.
The figure is much higher than that at Edgar Street probably reflecting that catering and maintenance is done in-hand at Huish Park.

Lambert Wary Of Bulls
Colchester boss Paul Lambert has warned his side to be careful of the Bulls in tomorrow's game after the club recorded back to back wins for the first time in nearly two years:
"To go 19 months without back-to-back wins is incredible. It beggars belief how it happened. Consistency is vital - when I first came here people told me that we couldn't win at home and that we couldn't get back-to-back wins. But in a short space of time, we have done both. What we have done so far has been really fine - we have a momentum and the club is vibrant.
"Hereford did great to get promotion to League One but they've found this season more difficult. But it's still a dangerous game for us and it's up to us to do as well as we have over the last two games."
Their official site names a 19 man squad for the game, with goalkeeper Dean Gerken and Anthony Wordsworth both back in contention. Squad: Walker, Cousins, Gerken, White, Ifil, Baldwin, Tierney, Reid, Coyne, Jackson, Perkins, Yeates, Izzet, Hammond, Wordsworth, Vernon, Wasiu, Platt, Easter.
The U's will welcome an extra 300 schoolkids on free tickets at tomorrow's game as they continue their promotion with the local Sports Trust.

Carlisle have named caretaker boss Greg Abbott as their permanent manager until the end of next season. The former Hull and Bradford defender won three of seven games in temporary charge. Crewe have failed in a bid to install David Platt as their new manager. Platt was one of the first talents off the Railwaymen production line after Dario Gradi took charge.
Ebbsfleet are losing £55,000 a month on current budgets. The ownership of the club by the MyFC website covers the losses at the moment but, with the bulk of the 30,000 members due for renewing their £35 membership in February, they need 16,000 to renew just to cover the losses.

Colchester to Cut Car Parking Charges
Colchester United have decided to cut the cost of parking at their ground from £10 down to £5 but it is unclear whether this will apply tomorrow when Hereford United are the visitors.
New Chief Executive Steve Bradshaw told their official website: "The club wants to actively encourage supporters - particularly families - who wish to attend games to come along and watch the team in action.
"We hope that the new pricing structure, which is effective immediately, will hopefully enable more fans to attend the games by safely parking adjacent to the stadium in our main car park."
However elsewhere in the article it says the cut in price applies from their home game against Scunthorpe.
Unclear to say the least.
Survey on the Edgar Street Plans
The Hereford Civic Society has released the results of a survey of their membership views on the Edgar Street Grid development. The aim was to ensure that their lobbying and campaigning reflect the views of the Society at large.
It has emerged that members felt the first priority was to 'preserve the city's character'. Their second priority was to 'sort out transport'. Members also felt that regeneration should begin 'inside the historic city'.
Members were split over whether Hereford needed a large department store but if there was one it should be 'inside the historic city'.
Asked if the ESG were appropriate for Hereford 86% of the members said no.
Finally members were asked 'would you prefer to see the ESG plans'

Turner looks forward to Colchester
Hereford United set out for Colchester late this morning and manager Graham Turner says he is looking forward to visit another new ground.
“The Colchester game is one to look forward to and it’s another new ground to go to," said Turner as reported by the Worcester News.
“Generally, we seem to perform well on the good surfaces against good teams and, despite the result against MK Dons, I thought we played exceptionally well for large periods.
“Now it’s time we started picking up points away from home and there’s no better place to start than Colchester.
“During the period we have had off, we have worked very hard so I hope we see some benefits from that.
“John Trewick and I watched them at Northampton and they made the most of their strength in the air from set-pieces and corners. That’s something we are going to have to cope with.
“They are direct, hard-working and strong.”

Ainsworth should be fit for Colchester
Hereford United manager Graham Turner has said that Lionel Ainsworth should be able to take part in Saturday's game at Colchester.
"I think Lionel should be fit, he's trained the early part of this week and he will be okay," said Turner.
Ainsworth has been suffering from a jarred knee.
Otherwise Bradley Hudson-Odoi has had a cold but should be available but all the long term injured players are still unavailable although Robbie Threlfall should start training again next week.
Turner is expected to give both new loan players Josh Gowling and Chris Weale a start. Gowling will come in the squad for Karl Broadhurst who misses the game as he has a one match ban for collecting five yellow cards. Weale is expected to get the nod over Craig Samson.
Time to close ranks says Turner
Graham Turner has spoken about last week's events in Commercial Street involving several Hereford United players.
"A week ago today I think it happened. One of the players was celebrating his birthday. A group of them went out together," Turner told the Official Website.
"I've tried to make as many enquiries as I possibly could. We've had discussions with the players on two occassions, all the players that were present. We've had discussions with the police.
"I wanted to see the CCTV viewing of it but for legal reasons I wasn't able to do that. But I'm satisfied now that I'm aufait with what happened.
"One or two of the players had more drink than was good for them. We condemn that out of hand. There's no doubt about that.
"The truth of the matter is one of them was escorted out, one of them became aggressive outside but nothing more than a bit of banter. I think it has been blown up out of all proportion. There was no physical damage to any property. There was no theft. We've heard all sorts of stories - punches being thrown.
"We did have one player who put a claim in of assult. A number of players went around the police station to make statements about it. Following our discussions it was decided that that player should withdraw the complaint of assult. It wasn't involving any other players and no players were involved in any other incident in regards to any physical activity with anybody else.
"It's unfortunate. We've condemned the over-exuberance. It is sometimes highlighted and made more of because of the position we find ourselves in. I'm sure if we had been in the top three then people would have been buying them drinks rather than condemning them.
"We've got to the bottom of it. We have taken the necessary action. I sometimes think when it has attracted the sort of publicity it has done we now close ranks. We battern down the hatches. We make sure we are in it together. The people who have instigated any problems for the club have been told and any disciplinary action necessary has been taken.
"I feel now we need to just close the case, battern down the hatches and get back to work.
"I have taken steps to make JD's, the Hop Pole and the Littern Tree off limits for players. I understand there is an association that deals with different licensed premesis and they are going to have a meeting to see whether players are going to be banned.
"I've taken steps of informing certain newspapers of making sure they are accurate because what it does it implies guilt by association for everybody in the club, all the playing staff, and that wasn't the case. I think people have got to be very wary when they start printing stories about Hereford United squad or Hereford team because it implies everybody and they've got to be more accurate than that.
"There was probably a problem with a couple of them. The others were a bit bosterous. They are young men, we hadn't got a game for ten days and they had gone out to celebrate a birthday.
"We condemn if they had more than is good for them that is not what we want. They went out as a group and there were quite a number who didn't go out. So I feel they should not have their names blackened by association.
"As far as I'm concerned now we had discussions with the police. The matter is now firmly closed. Taken action whatever I feel was necessary. It was a week ago we hadn't got a game for ten days so now it making sure we firmly concentrate on the Colchester game."
HAND hand out Bans to Players
It is being reported that at their meeting this afternoon HAND agreed to ban all Hereford United players from their pubs and clubs until after Christmas.
Four players are understood to be banned for twelve months. One other is understood to be leaving Hereford United.
None of the above has been confirmed as yet by Hereford United.
Turner to Comment on Hop Pole Incident
Graham Turner is to comment on the events surrounding certain Hereford United players at the Hop Pole and other establishments last Thursday evening.
His comments will appear in an interview due to be posted on the Official Website this evening.
Speculation continues this lunchtime about which players were involved. However until any names are made public it would be unfair and unwise to mention them.
Meanwhile the West Mercia Police licensing officer is expected to attend the meeting of HAND due to take place later today.
This officer usually attends the meetings of HAND in an observer/admin role than anything else, and does not take part in any decisions the group may make as regard bans etc.
Jan 3 Leeds Match Confirmed As 3pm KO
Leeds United have confirmed that their January 3rd trip to Edgar Street will kick off at 3pm after much speculation.
Many of their away trips have changed to noon kick-offs as Police dictate terms to clubs but, surprisingly, West Mercia Police have opted to keep the game in it's originally scheduled slot.
It is expected that the game will be made all-ticket as a result.
UPDATE: Hereford United have confirmed that the game will be all-ticket for both sets of fans.
Pub Ban expected for Several Hereford Players
Several Hereford United players are expected to be banned from pubs and clubs that belong to the HAND scheme. This follows reported unruly behaviour by these, as yet, un-named players in the centre of Hereford last Thursday evening.
A meeting of the members of HAND, The Herefordshire Against Night Time Disorder scheme, is expected to take place later today. The names of the players alledged to have mis-behaved will be put to the meeting and if agreement is reached they could be banned for up to twelve months.
It is understood that doormen from the establishments involved will be at the meeting.
It will not be the first time a Hereford United player has been banned by HAND. Youngster Sam Gwynne was banned earlier this year.
This came to light when the player of the year function which was due to take place at Saxty's was moved to the Football Ground as Saxty's would not allow Gwynne into the establishment.
Whilst the events of last Thursday are still being investigated by the Police, it would be in correct to go into much detail. Suffice it to say that the players involved visited several establishments in Commercial Road including the Litten Tree and the Hop Pole.
Meanwhile there appears to be no mention of the events in today's Hereford Times although the paper asked West Mercia Police about the incident.

Geoff Horsfield has been given the all clear in his cancer battle, and may resume his career with Walsall.
Former Bulls trialist goalkeeper Adam Collin is on trial at Carlisle. The winners of the Bournemouth-Blyth FA Cup replay are playing for a £200,000 jackpot after the Third Round game with Blackburn was announced for live TV whichever side goes through. Swindon have identified two managers still employed at other clubs as their prime targets for their managers job.

A far cry from their old Layer Road ground; this is a recently built modern stadium in the Cuckoo Farm area of north Colchester. Largely funded by the local council, it cost in the region of £14 million and is all seated. Visiting fans are accommodated in the South Stand where a choice of admission prices are available. The centre block S3 offers seats for adults at £24 and seniors/U18's/disabled at £16 whereas blocks S2 and S4 (either side) are £22 and £15. However, block S1 (nearest the corner) is £20/£13. Block S5 (family) is the same as block S1 but also offers U16 at £8 and U11 at £5. There are reports that, once inside the ground, you can sit anywhere which can be a bit annoying if you've paid an extra £4 for a centre seat! It is understood that the usual food and drinks, including alcohol, are served on the concourse of the South Stand.

By Car
There appears to be a choice of routes. Routemaster (AA) suggests Oxford, M40, M25 (leave at J28) and A12 to Colchester with a distance of around 205 miles.
Alternatively, you can go via M5, M42, M6, A14, M11 (leave at J8), A120 (Sign Colchester) before joining the A12 to the ground. This is a distance of 215 miles and avoids a trip along the M25.
Leave the A12 at Junction 29, which is the intersection with the A1232 & A120. At the roundabout at the end of the slip road take the exit signposted A12 London & Colchester Business Park. Then take the first left into Severalls Industrial Estate and then left again into the Business Park. At the next roundabout turn right into the Crescent and at the next one, turn right into Severalls Lane. At the next roundabout turn left into Axial Way and then straight onto into United Way for the stadium.
In either case, you will need to allow upwards of four and a half hours. Postcode is CO4 5UP.
Parking. There are around 600 spaces at the ground but the cost is believed to be a staggering £10 per car. Colchester provide a free shuttle-bus service that operates from Bruff Close, which is close to Colchester North train station. However, their Official Site says you need to use the travel ticket attached to the matchday ticket and these are not available to HUFC fans as the Club have declined the offer to sell advance tickets. Alehouses - The Stadium is some way from the centre and therefore offers very little by way of Pubs. Best bet appears to be area around the rail station where the shuttle buses run from. The Norfolk on North Station Road looks to be worth a visit. It's a Greene King house that keeps IPA and Abbot along with Speckled Hen. Basic Pub food is served and pizza, fried chicken and curry houses are within walking distance. The Albert on Cowdray Avenue is a Beefeater and has London Pride and IPA. The Bricklayers on North Station Road is a home fans Pub but does serve Adnams and is well worth a try without colours. The local Wetherspoons is The Playhouse at 4 St Johns Street where the usual fare can be found. The nearby Fox and Fidler offers a decent range including Malden Bitter. Also, The Bull on Crouch Street has received some good reviews for their ale and food.
In summery, a trip to Colchester is not what it used to be when welcoming Layer Road was their home. I doubt there'll be free ice-creams at the chip shop this time!

Injury Problems at Leeds
Two of Leeds United's best known players are currently injured and may not be fit for their visit to Edgar Street on Saturday January 3rd.
Striker Jermaine Beckford has a torn hamstring and midfielder Andy Robinson a hamstring injury. Both are said to face a four week break from first team action.
Meanwhile speculation by BBC Hereford and Worcester's Keith Hall that the kick-off time, or even the day, of the Leeds game might be changed has not been confirmed by either club. He has also said that Leeds could have 'upwards of 2,000 away fans' at the game.
Finally Leeds chairman Ken Bates has hit out at ITV following their coverage of the Histon victory over Leeds in the FA Cup last Sunday.
"The coverage was absolutely dreadful and amateurish," he told Yorkshire Radio.
"I think the people who run Strictly Come Dancing probably did it rather than anybody to do with football.
"On the technical side nobody had the wit to wipe the lenses clean of the rain and it was like watching through a fish pond.
"They interviewed their chairman during the match, and they went in their dressing room. We wouldn't allow them in our dressing room because we were there for a game of football not for a circus."
ITV were forced to apologise twice after the game after fans grabbed a pitchside effects microphone to describe loudly what they thought of the broadcaster into it, then they showed a nude Histon player in the dressing room afterwards.
Preview: Bulls vs Colchester
The Bulls make their first ever trip to the 'Weston Homes Community Stadium' on Saturday hoping for three League One points.
It will be ten years to the day since the Bulls last travelled to the old Layer Road ground. It was an FA Cup Second Round match that day with Neil Grayson equalising for the Bulls after ex-Bull David Gregory had given the U's the lead. The replay - with ex-Bull Richard Wilkins in the U's side, also ended 1-1 with Grayson scoring before the Bulls won 5-4 on penalties.
The Bulls travel east having had an 10 day break since their last game. While the U's rescheduled a game in place of the blank Saturday, the Bulls chose to take time off and reflect on the start to the season. The break will have eased the injury situation with both Lionel Ainsworth and Moses Ashikodi hoped to be available to bolster the Bulls attacking force.
Colchester's are yet to call their new ground 'Home Sweet Home' after just two wins in ten home matches so far this season. The poor form has seen gates plummet with over 2,000 less seeing their most recent match at home to Yeovil than those that watched their first home match with Huddersfield. However the U's have now won their last two games, against Yeovil and Northampton, and are on an upwards curve under new boss Paul Lambert. Top scorer Mark Yeates has seven goals this season, but has not scored in six matches.

Murray will be fine says McCarthy
Wolves manager Mick McCarthy has told the Birmingham Mail that goalkeeper Matt Murray will be fine.
27 year old Murray suffered a ruptered tendon whilst playing for Hereford United at MK Dons a fortnight ago.
"I haven’t seen him personally but I spoke to him yesterday after his op and he said the operation had gone well," said McCarthy.
"He knows he has now got to let nature take its course.
"The staff are pleased with the way the operation went.
"Matt will be alright. The first day he was obviously upset about it but he is a top sportsman and he knows sitting about and moping about it is not going to help so he has had the operation done and he is going to crack on now and get fit again.
"Does he have a future? Of course. He will take the positives out of this."
McCarthy recently had knee surgery himself.
"Take the leg he had the operation on.
"He will probably be on crutches now for a few weeks so his standing leg will be as strong as an ox – like mine.
"I will be going round in circles when I get on my bike again because my right leg will be twice as strong.
"I have told Matt this and said you have to take the positives out of the situation.
"Give the knee chance to heal and Matt will be fine. He will be grand.
"He has got wonderful staff here, wonderful medical support."

Hartlepool have announced a loss of £1.6million in the year to 2007, with spending on wages of £2.1million. The club's owners have now pumped £9million into the club to keep it afloat. Oldham have revealed that striker Lee Hughes has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave for £400,000. He is believed to be wanted by Doncaster.
Wycombe's Managing Director, and biggest creditor, Steve Hayes is the new owner of Adams Park tenants Wasps. Weymouth have sacked boss John Hollins, who has been on 'gardening leave' for the last two weeks. Chairman Malcolm Curtis says Hollins rarely turned up for training, and approached Woking over their manager's job. Ex-Bull Danny Carey-Bertram scored twice as his AFC Telford side beat Burton 3-0 in the Setanta Shield. DCB has now scored seven goals in eight games for the club.
Bournemouth's 3-3 draw with Luton last night finally put them on zero points for the season. Luton are now the last club in the red, on minus ten, with Grimsby and Rotherham the targets on ten points. Chester's sale is one of a number of topics to be discussed at an open fans meeting tonight. Owner Stephen Vaughan has said he may attend, as has John Batchelor. The pair are giving different stories at present, with Batchelor saying the basics of a deal has been reached though Vaughan says Batchelor hasn't a penny to his name.

More on Players Incident
The chairman of HAND, Darryl Norrish, has been interviewed this afternoon on BBC Hereford and Worcester about the incident involving some Hereford United players last Thursday.
"There was an incident last Thursday in one of the outlets in Hereford City centre which regarding some of the team, not all of the team, but some of the team misbehaving and police were called. Ejected from one of the outlets and it is going to HAND appeal," said Norrish.
"We will discuss with the other licencees in the area if they have had any trouble. It will be voted on as a group. Names will be put forward - I can't tell you exact names at the moment due to ongoings things with the Police. If everybody agrees these individuals will be put on HAND bans.
"We will not tolerate any violence in any of our public houses.
"At the moment the Police are looking at CCTV."
The next HAND meeting is due to take place on Thursday.
HAND, The Herefordshire Against Night Time Disorder scheme, which was set up in 2004, is a joint initiative between county licensees and West Mercia Constabulary. It takes direct action against anyone getting involved in alcohol related disorder, either in pubs and clubs or outside on the streets.
The close partnership between the licensees and the police ensures that anyone banned from one participating business will automatically be banned from all those signed up to the scheme.
Christmas Shopping at Hereford United
Hereford United have announced extended opening hours for the club shop.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) the shop will open from 6pm to 8pm and on Saturday (December 6th) will open from 10am to Noon.
Supporters are also reminded that the last date for orders for the On-line shop is 4pm on December 12th.
Hereford Players in Police Investigation
West Mercia Police have confirmed they are looking into reports of an incident concerning several Hereford United players which may have taken place last Thursday evening in Hereford.
Their response comes after both the Hereford Times and BBC Hereford and Worcester contacted the police for details.
Police in Hereford have confirmed that they are investigating an incident at the Hop Pole Public House in Commercial Road, Hereford which occurred around 8.45pm on Thursday 27th November 2008.
The incident, which incorporates an allegation of assault, involved some members of the Hereford United football team. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident. Police are currently studying CCTV footage from the licensed premises in an effort to determine exactly what happened, and enquiries are continuing.
Any action that licensees of the city's pubs and clubs may be proposing to take at their next HAND Scheme meeting this Thursday remains independent of the Police Service.
Purdie wants a regular position
Former Hereford United utilily player Rob Purdie has said he would like to stick to a regular position in the Darlington side.
As at Edgar Street Purdie has found himself being asked to play at virtually every position except for goalkeeper. However in recent games he has played on the right of midfield and would like to make that his main position.
“I was happy playing leftback and I’m happy playing right-midfield,” Purdie told the Darlington and Stockton Times.
“It’s a lot easier to settle and play more consistently when you’re in the same position week after week.
“That’s something I didn’t have last season, apart from towards the end, and for the bulk of last season I was inconsistent.
“It doesn’t help playing in one position one week and another the next. It can sometimes work to freshen me up when I get moved to a new position. But I don’t like being moved to a new position when I’ve been playing well, that’s the only problem.
“I moved to leftback during the Chester game last week and did alright.
"But I’m 26 now and I really want to nail down a position.”

Swindon have loaned teenage defender Tom Evans to Truro for a month. The Western League side are not subject to the transfer window. The club have denied moving for Stuart Pearce as new boss, with Lawrie Sanchez now front runner with the bookies. Grimsby are in talks with Robbie Fowler over a player-coach role.
Bradford have cancelled the contract of striker Willy Topp after a dismal spell. The Chilean striker cost £35,000 and took several months to earn a work permit but never scored a first team goal. Rushden defender Curtis Woodhouse, currently on the transfer list, expects to end his footballing career after winning his ninth sucessive boxing match at the weekend. He plans four more fights in the New Year with a title match to follow.

Bulls Lower Admission Charges
Hereford United have reacted to the lower VAT prices by dropping admission charges for home games. Prices will drop by £1 except for some Juniors.
The Junior Bull price, and advanced ticket offer for Juniors, will remain at £5 and £3 respectively.

Leicester to give VAT Gain to Charity
League One club Leicester City are to give a donation to charity of an amount roughly equal to the drop in VAT.
Following the government's decision to lower the rate of VAT from today (Monday), Leicester City have decided to make donations to selected chosen charities, rather then go through the costly exercise of re-aligning their entire ticket pricing structure.
From December 1, the rate of VAT charged on products sold in the UK has been reduced from 17.5% to 15%. And whilst logistical issues have reluctantly prevented the club from reducing ticket prices, the club plan to calculate the discounted VAT element on all tickets sold between now and the end of the season and donate this sum to charity.
City Chief Executive Lee Hoos explained the reasoning behind the Foxes' decision. He said: "Administrative issues have made this difficult to implement. For example, an adult ticket is £23, minus the 2.5% equals £22.43 and an Under-22s ticket is £15, minus the 2.5% equals £14.63.
"Additionally, a lot of tickets have already been sold at the pre-VAT reduction rate and if I were a season-ticket holder then I would feel very hard done by, not to be receiving some benefit.
"However, we feel that it would be wrong to be profiteering from this reduction so we have therefore made the decision to donate the difference to several chosen charities at the end of the season."
As yet no announcement has been made by Hereford United as to what they will be doing about the drop in the rate of VAT.
Hall to Referee at Colchester
Andy Hall is set to take charge of next Saturday's League One game at Colchester where Hereford United are the visitors.
A refrigeration and heating engineer Hall started refereeing in 1987 when he was 18 years of age, encouraged by his father who had been a Football League Linesman. He soon progressed through to CL status and reached the National List of assistant Referees in 1993, and the Referees’ list in 1997.
Hereford United have already met Hall this season. On that occassion the Bulls were defeated 6-1 by Bristol Rovers. Sam Oji was the only Hereford player booked that day.
The previous season Hall refereed the FA Cup game against Hartlepool at Edgar Street and also the away League Two game at Peterborough.

Bulls Lose Pirates Friendly
The Bulls lost today's behind closed doors friendly match with Bristol Rovers 3-2 at Edgar Street.
A brief report on the Rovers official site gives little detail on the Bulls line up, but a Moses Ashikodi penalty and Nick Chadwick are credited with the Bulls goals. Chris Weale, Gary Breen - who gave away a penalty for Rovers, Simon Johnson, and Craig Samson were also named in the report.
Update: Hereford United team: Weale, Macleod, Gowling, Breen, Edwards (HUFC Youth), Johnson, Gwynne, Weir (HUFC Youth), Jones, Hudson-Odi, Ashikodi with Chadwick replacing Hudson-Odi and Samson replacing Weale at half-time.
Gary Breen handled for the Bristol penalty and a slight push on Chadwick secured Hereford's for Ashikodi to score in the 65th minute. Chadwick headed in a Craig Jones cross for the other goal on 76 minutes.
Turner in line for WDP Award
Hereford United manager, Graham Turner, is in-line for a Western Daily Press award.
The paper currently has an on-line poll asking readers 'Who is your vote for the Western Daily Press Sports Award of 2008.'
At present Turner has 71% of the vote with former Cheltenham manager Keith Downing on 23%. 1406 votes have been cast to date.
Other 'famous' names in the poll include Bristol City manager Gary Johnson with 3%, and Rickie Lambert, the Bristol Rovers striker, with 2%.
