Graham Turner has admitted that the move up to League Two has been a costly exercise.
"The wage bill has increased considerably. Nobody has put any money into the club so we have to live within our means. We lose some players because of that.
"We haven't got the benefit of a benefactor as have some clubs we are competing with. Even then some are losing a massive amount of money every week.
"We can't afford to do that. We've been into a CVA once, we've had the club in jepordy once so financial restrictions will always be in place here.
"I'm not quite sure - I haven't got the figures to hand - but I think we will be close to breaking even this season and that is a reasonable position.
"We're okay."
Turner's slightly edited comments come from a longer interview on the Hereford United Official Site.
