It won't be easy to find new players says Turner

Graham Turner has told the Hereford Times that it won't be easy to attract some players to Hereford.

"Players who remain with us have, obviously, got to improve and we have to bring in some fresh faces who are going to improve the side, otherwise we will finish in the same position next season," said Turner.

"We know the truth, geographically we are at a disadvantage, particularly those with young families, want to stay nearer home.

"There are a lot of clubs paying a lot more money and, finally, status-wise we realise we are not the biggest club in the league. Therefore when players have got a choice between us and, say, Peterborough, Wrexham, MK Dons - clubs of that nature _ they are far more likely to finish up there than here.

"But over the years, we have been able to produce players who have done well for us. We work hard and have monitored a lot of games this past season and we have learned a lot from this season."

Turner explained how the Football League rules about contracts work.

"We pay (players) until the end of June. A player not fixed up by then gets a further month's severance pay which gives them the power to sit and await offers from other clubs.

"I have been talking to individual players and agents of our players for sometime without any final conclusion.

"We need some fresh faces in for next season and we have a wish list."
