John McCombe arrives from Huddersfield, where he made a total of 20 league and cup appearances since signing his first professional contract in the summer of 2003. The 6ft 2in defender was due to play at Edgar Street for Boston earlier in the season, but Boston's financial status cut the deal off before it began. He was a regular in the Huddersfield reserves, playing the likes of Birmingham and West Brom last season, and captaining the side on a number of occasions.
Karl Broadhurst arrives from Bournemouth, subject to a medical. Nine years as a pro at Dean Court saw Karl play 227 times for the Cherries, including some as captain. The requirement to pass a medical is likely due to a year long absence for a back problem that saw him miss most of 2005. He has also missed large chunks of previous seasons with shoulder and neck injuries, and went so far last season as joking: "I would gladly take a contract because I don't think anyone else is going to want me!"
Kris Taylor arrives from Walsall, where he played in just under 100 games in five years as a pro. A left sided operator with midfield his preferred position, and a keen eye for goal, Kris spent two seperate loan spells at Burton scoring against the Bulls in Burton's 3-0 win in January 2005 - one of three seperate outings against the Bulls.
