Wrexham have been dealt a financial blow after Liverpool chose to move their reserves to Warrington. They did get a cash boost today, however, when over 11,000 saw them entertain the Reds in a friendly match.
Darlington have signed Swansea striker Pawel Abbott for £100,000. Abbott, formerly at Huddersfield, scored just once for the Swans in 19 games since a £150,000 January move. He was more prolific at Huddersfield, scoring nearly a goal every other game.
Ex-Bull Tony Pennock will get a taste of European football on Tuesday after being drafted into the TNS squad to face Latvian side Ventspils in a Champions League qualifier due to an injury crisis. Pennock, 36, is challenging Graham Turner for the title of busiest man in football as he is manager of both Welsh Premier rivals Port Talbot and the Welsh semi-pro side, a goalkeeping coach at Swansea, and also Football In The Community officer for Swansea Council.
