After a morning of speculation that Lionel Ainsworth had been sold by Watford, Hereford United have confirmed the winger has been recalled by the club.
The pacy winger was due to play the final game of his loan spell at Walsall on Saturday, but is now expected to make a permanent transfer to another side with a trio of League One and Championship sides speculated to be the destination.
He played seven times during his most recent loan spell, scoring three times, to take his total Bulls record to eleven goals in 26 matches. The Bulls are understood to hold a sell-on clause but details of the original transfer were scarce. The deal was described by Graham Turner to - potentially - be the biggest in the club's history but any clauses in the deal are unlikely to have been triggered after Ainsworth started just seven games after his permanent transfer.
