It is often said that a new broome sweeps clean and new Walsall manager Chris Hutchings will be hoping the saying comes true on Saturday when Hereford United visit the Bescot.
"We have some good players here, some experienced players, and when they are all fit we expect to be pushing up the table," said Hutchings as reported by This is Walsall.
"We have some massive games coming up, starting on Saturday with Hereford, and then we have Swindon, Leeds and Leicester – big teams to play.
"Leeds are a big club and will bring a lot of support and Leicester have a lot of expectation, but the most important one is this Saturday at home to Hereford.
"Hereford had a fantastic result last weekend. They beat a very good Oldham side who are near the top of the league, so it is going to be difficult.
"But if one or two come off the injured table, and obviously we will have Michael Ricketts back (from suspension), we will go into most games feeling confident.
"We have to assess the squad. We have one or two injuries, so we have to assess the squad very, very quickly.
"We have got a full treatment room at the moment but hopefully in the next couple of weeks that can be emptied and we get our best team out there on a Saturday because that's when I think performances especially and results will change."
