Crewe have axed keeper Steve Collis, and appear to have agreed a loan extension to the end of the season for Bristol Rovers stopper Steve Phillips. Burton have released defender Aaron Brown, now surplus after ex-Bull Richard Jackson's arrival, and striker Serge Makofo. Aldershot have allowed club captain Adam Hinshelwood to join Wycombe on a free transfer.

A number of games have called pitch inspections for tomorrow, but the Darlington-Port Vale match is already off. Chester are gearing up for a takeover with both former chairman Ian Anderson and Chief Executive Bob Gray quitting the club. The debatable Morrell Maison is now in day-to-day control of the club, and may make a takeover bid, much to the dismay of fans group CFU.

They had been a top flight side for 13 years, twice qualifying for the UEFA Cup. The club, who have a flourishing youth academy, have made 120 staff and players redundant but hope to save the academy and reform in the Third Division.
