Planning Applications Take Time in Hereford

Please note - This article has been updated since its original publication.

With a planning application for the redevelopment of the Blackfriars Stand at the Edgar Street football ground likely to be submitted to Herefordshire Council sometime in the not too distant future, it's interesting to note just how long applications take to be approved.

Last July an application was made to Herefordshire Council by Mrs Joan Fennessy on behalf of Hereford United Football Club. The proposal was to 'Replace existing non illuminated signage board'.

It appears the application was made on July 15th and was subject to a 'public consultation period' from September 10th to October 1st.

Neighbour Notifications were sent out to 41 different addresses.

Consultation notices were sent out to the Highways Agency, Hereford Council at two different addresses and the Transportation Unit- Central.

That was all done in September.

According to the UKPlanning website the application was passed on November 2nd. However as at January 1st, according to the Herefordshire Council Website, the application 'has not yet been decided'. It does not say why.

As it's taken over four months for an application about a signage board to be passed, it seems unlikely that the application for the redevelopment of the Blackfriars End of Edgar Street will be dealt with much quicker.
