James McQuilkin and Mathieu Manset -although his touch took a large deflection off Garry Breen - scored in each half with the Bees scoring with an own goal handed to Richard Rose that the poor ref and linesman couldn't decide over.
A healthier crowd of 2,146, with 88 Bees, Martin Allen, and ex-Villa man Ian Taylor in attendance, shows a substantial improvement on recent weeks, but the pitch conditions halted any hopes of some real entertainment.
