The Merton Meadow car park which adjoins Hereford United's football ground is currently (10am) partly closed because of flooding. (Hereford Council are reporting 80% closed)
Heavy overnight rain in the area has also affected several roads in the area.
The Met Office has reported that Hereford was the wettest place in the UK in the last 24 hours with 64.6 mms (2.5in) of rainfall.
A flood prevention scheme costing £4.5M was recently completed with one of its aims to prevent flooding of the Merton Meadow car park. Hereford Futures says it is investigating why the car park has flooded, believing a blockage east of Edgar Street is to blame.
Elsewhere in the city, the Leisure Centre is closed until at least 4pm due to flooding with a decision to be made later whether to keep it closed further.
Some good news - the River Wye isn't expected to cause any flooding in Herefordshire in the next 24 hours. Despite the high rainfall totals, the Wye is well within its banks throughout the county.
