Kidderminster can't fail to benefit from Wembley final

Whatever happens in the Trophy final tomorrow at the new Wembley, Kidderminster Harriers can't fail to benefit from the occasion.

Kidderminster and opponents Stevenage Borough will be the first two clubs to play a competitive game at the new stadium but perhaps more important will be the financial windfall on its way to Aggborough.

It is expected that upto 70,000 will watch the game at the stadium.

Harriers' Chairman Barry Norgrove thinks that should his club lift the trophy the windfall could be as high as £250,000.

"We're going to break all records," Norgrove told Ricky George for the Daily Telegraph.

Several Hereford United supporters are known to be going to the game, perhaps as much to see the new stadium as watch the match.

"We've sold 25,000 tickets, the most ever at this club. We get £35,000 each from Sky (for the live televised game), we've earned £38,000 in prize money so far, replica shirt sales are going well and hopefully we'll be first up those steps at the end."

The winners of the 38th renewal of non-league's premier cup competition will receive a further £50,000 from the Football Association prize fund.
