The Bulls have agreed a six-figure fee with Bristol Rovers for Andy Williams, according to an interview on the official website.
Graham Turner is quoted as saying: "We're pleased that we've settled with Bristol Rovers and the way they've done it. It's a guaranteed six-figure sum and then there's top ups after he's played games, after they've done something and then importantly we've got a 20% sell-on should he move on from Bristol Rovers."
The agreement of a fee, especially in the six-figure range, will be a welcome boost to the Bulls who have had bad experience of transfer tribunals. Many fans were expecting only around £70,000 for Williams, plus a sell-on clause. The negotiated deal appears to be similar to the deal reached when Rovers' Director of Football Lennie Lawrence, then at Cardiff, took Paul Parry away from Edgar Street. That deal, that included appearance and international clauses, nearly doubled in value as the clauses were activated with a sell-on clause also part of the deal.
