Postponement angers Bulls boss Turner
Hereford United director of football Graham Turner has told of his disappointment at today's match against Northwich Victoria being postponed, and has criticised the County FAs who organise the County Cup competitions which forced the change of date.
He told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "It's absolutely ludicrous that the Conference and the County FA couldn't get together. The following week there are no games at all scheduled, so why they couldn't fit in a Senior Cup match then, I don't know. Surely it's not beyond the wit and wisdom of Conference and County FA's not to have clashes at this stage of the season?"
"You have cash flow problems at this stage of the season. We won't have had a home match for nearly three weeks. You would have thought that with better communications, that there shouldn't have been a clash." he continued.
Turner said that the County Associations are stuck in the past and use their power to reschedule fixtures as a rare opportunity to show their strength.
"It's just people flexing their muscles and showing who's boss.... and I think it's the County FA's being a bit funny and deciding this is the day we're going to play, irrespective of what else is going on. It's particularly galling when it's a home match. If it was Northwich, away, then it's their cash flow problem, but, when it's a home game we're losing, then we just get ourselves annoyed over things like this."
