That's available with BetVictor.

Yesterday Bet365 were offering 21/10 for a Hereford win, but today they've dropped their offer to 19/10.

Bulls "Hopeful" Game Will Go Ahead

The Bulls are 'hopeful' tomorrow's game will go ahead.

The pitch is reported to be in good condition today by the official site (link), with rain showers tonight.

However heavy rain, forecast by the Met Office from 9am to kick-off and beyond, will mean that ground staff will be at the ground early to monitor the situation.

News Round-Up

Kidderminster have loaned midfielder James Dance to Rushall Olympic, the side where he started his career. The 26 year old ex-Luton man has not started a game for the Harriers in nearly two months. Luton midfielder Jonathan Smith has returned home after a successful operation on his double leg break.

Macclesfield had just 120 tickets left last night for their FA Cup match with Sheff Weds. 2,500 Wednesday fans will join around 4,000 Silkmen supporters at the match on Saturday with the full house bolstering their fragile finances. Ex-Bull Marlon Jackson has returned to parent club Bury following his loan spell at Lincoln. The 23 year old didn't score in six games for the Imps.

Moses Ashikodi is on the move again. After less than a month, and eight games, at Margate the former Watford man has joined Conf South side Farnborough. Former Bulls striker Alan Connell has been made available to loan by current side Bradford. Grimsby boss Paul Hurst has already denied early speculation linking them with a move.

Former Bulls loan keeper David Cornell is to return to Swansea when his St Mirren loan expires tomorrow. The 22 year old made only six appearances for the SPL side, the last in September, as first ex-Hyde loanee Christopher Dilo then Slovakian Marian Kello were used in his place. Alfreton have allowed utility man Alastair Taylor to join Conf North side Gainsborough for a month. The 22 year old has made just one start for the Reds this term.

Bulls 21/10 To Defeat Kiddy

The bookies appear to favour Kidderminster to win the New Years Day clash with Hereford United at Edgar Street, kick-off 3pm.

Currently Bet365 is offering 21/10 for a Hereford win.

Best price for a draw is 12/5 with BetVictor and Coral.

A win for Kidderminster is 7/5 with William Hill, Paddy Power and BetVictor.

Given Kidderminster lost 6-0 at Luton on Saturday and the Bulls defeated Forest Green 1-0, perhaps the price of 21/10 for a Bulls' win looks a touch generous.

Willo Joins Hometown Merthyr

Gavin Williams has signed for Southern League One side Merthyr Town.

The 33 year old left Woking 10 days ago for family reasons, and has signed on for Merthyr with a debut likely on New Years Day. The Calor Gas League One South and West side are second in the division that is three tiers below the Conference.

Manager Garry Sheppard told the club's official site: "Gavin is going to be a great addition to the squad, and his quality is going to give us something extra. Obviously the players have done well to reach 2nd in the table, but we are always looking to improve.

"His signing shows our intent and it will be a massive boost for the whole club as we move into the New Year."

Meanwhile, former Bulls loanee Lyle Taylor is to return to Scotland. After leaving Falkirk in the summer for Sheff Utd, the striker has netted just twice for the Blades in 23 games.

He will join SPL side Partick Thistle on loan for the remainder of the season, with his debut likely to be in their New Years Day game at Celtic Park.

Happy Birthday

Burr Regretting Gumpers Interest?

Kidderminster boss Steve Burr is probably regretting speaking with Forest Green about their managerial job, with the Harriers' form slumping since the talks.

Harriers have recorded just nine points from a possible 27 since Burr was given permission to talk to Dale Vince at the start of November, 11 points less than their previous nine games. They also haven't won on their travels in any competition in seven games, including a FA Trophy loss at Bradford PA.

Their six goal mauling at the hands of Luton on Saturday also saw defender Chey Dunkley sent off. That performance left Burr angry, telling the press: "I am very angry about the result today, obviously. It is hard enough coming here anyway without going down to ten men.

"I thought in the first half we had a few good chances and Tyler's made some good saves - we were in the game. But again, the goals we conceded... balls into our box, we dealt with things like that on Boxing Day against Hereford and today we didn't again - that is a big disappointment.

"Losing Chey and them scoring to make it three only made it more tough for us."

Dunkley's dismissal is the third for Harriers this season, with 57 bookings. The Bulls have recorded one dismissal and 34 bookings.

Bulls Avoid Further Five Card Trick

With the deadline for a suspension for five yellow cards tomorrow, only Chris Bush will have served the one match ban.

Loan midfielder Damon Lathrope came to Edgar Street on two yellows and picked up two more, prompting boss Martin Foyle to leave him out of the FA Trophy loss to Woking as a precaution against a possible ban. Luke Graham has three yellows, with the rest of the squad on two or less.

The first ban that will now kick in is for 10 yellow cards, with Bush already on six.

Townsend Training With Tamworth

Former Bull Michael Townsend is training with Tamworth in a bid to earn a deal.

The ex-Cheltenham defender is reported to be lacking fitness after injury hampered his attempts to find a club in the summer. Lambs boss Dale Belford told the Tamworth Herald:

"Michael is a big strong lad, a no-nonsense centre half who has done well in his career so far. He's working hard on his fitness now, after injury, and he's someone we will be looking at.

"He could feature in the Birmingham Senior Cup at Rugby Town on January 7."

Belford also wants to keep ex-Bull Nick Chadwick at the club when his loan spell from Plymouth expires in January. The 31 year old has scored three times in seven Conference games, as well as the winner against Cheltenham in the FA Cup.

Ref Needed For Fans Game

The HUST fans team are looking for a referee to take charge of their match with Kidderminster on New Years Day.

Organiser Chris Oleksy is looking for anyone with an understanding of the game, rather than a qualified referee, with subs from the two sides running the lines and equipment like a whistle and flags already available. Anyone interested can contact Chris by email - chris_hufc@hotmail.co.uk.

The game will be another charity fundraiser with proceeds split between the Trust's chosen charity, the Adam Stansfield Foundation, and Macmillan.

News Round-Up

Barnet Player/Manager Edgar Davids has threatened to quit playing after being sent of for the third time this season. Davids has played only nine games this season, during which the Bees have had seven players sent off, and now claims they are being victimised by officials. Cambridge boss Richard Money is the next manager to claim his side aren't getting any favours from refs after they had a good goal ruled offside during their goalless draw with Nuneaton.

Forest Green have allowed loan striker James Alabi to return to Scunthorpe. He failed to score in six games during a month at the New Lawn. Chester boss Neil Young says his side lacks a 'killer instinct' but he is struggling to find a striker that will come to his part-time side. Young will have to loan out players in order to fund a signing.

Luton loanee Pelly Ruddock has been recalled to West Ham. The utility man played four times for the Hatters in the Conference, with them winning every game and netting 17 goals. Macclesfield have announced that defender Steve Williams is the last of their current squad to agree a contract extension to the end of the season. Three younger players will leave Moss Rose, with striker Jay Burgess the only one of the trio to have had any first team experience.

Lincoln defender Alan Power will miss four games after the club decided not to appeal against his second red card of the season on Saturday. Midfielder Jake Sheridan is also serving a three match ban after being sent off on Boxing Day.

Serrell Calls On Kiddy Fans To Help The Bulls

Kidderminster chairman Mark Serrell has called on Harriers fans to travel to Edgar Street on New Years Day.

Having helped rescue his own club after they were hours from disaster, Serrell wants a good following to travel not only to support their team but to also swell the Bulls' coffers.

Serrell told their official site: "Obviously to have many, many hundreds of fans there at Hereford to support the team on New Year's Day would be fantastic and a great sight.

"But I also feel for Hereford and the situation they are in and I know many others do, too.

"A lot of people are working hard to turn things around there but it is far, far from easy so it would be fair to say that to have that number of Harriers fans paying to attend the match would also help in that respect.

"Every bit makes a difference and it would be great to see one our local sides come out of what is a troubled time and move forward again."

Bulls' chairman David Keyte, in his Saturday programme notes, hoped for 800 Harriers fans to turn up on Wednesday. 755 turned up at Edgar Street for last season's Boxing Day clash.

Fans Team To Get Quick Kiddy Rematch

This from the Trust:

Fans team organiser Chris Oleksy has arranged a swift rematch with Kidderminster's fans team to seek revenge on their 4-2 loss on Boxing Day.
The home leg will take place at Belmont Abbey at 11am on New Years Day, ahead of the Bulls' fixture against the Harriers at Edgar Street at 3pm.

HUISA – Woking (Sat 4th Jan) and Forest Green (Thurs 9th Jan)

Coach details have been announced for the two forthcoming away games.

For Woking, the coach will depart from Radford's at 9.30 am with a fare of £19 (non-members £21).

The Forest Green coach will depart at 5.00 pm with a fare of £11 (non-members £13).

HUISA will be in Radford's from 1.00 pm on New Years Day to take bookings or seats can be booked through the Club office (08442 761939).  HUISA are particularly keen to receive early booking for the Forest Green trip in order to gauge how many coaches to book.

Victory Against A Very Good Side Said Foyle

Hereford United manager Martin Foyle spoke to Keith Hall for BBC Hereford and Worcester after last night's 1-0 victory over Forest Green Rovers.

"I can't fault the effort and committment," said Foyle.

"I throughly enjoyed the 1-0 win against a very good side, a side that was probably tipped for promotion."

Foyle choose a 4-3-3 formation to start the game.

"We had to, we had a little chat about what we've done. At Kidderminster we didn't really press the ball enough so we've tried to go a little bit higher up the pitch.

"I thought the midfield three were outstanding but the front boys really set the stall out. They were prepared to chase lost causes.

"The back four were magnificent tonight and the keeper. To get another clean sheet at the right time especially here was fantastic.

"I enjoyed the endeavour, the work-rate. I've never seen so many people track back.

"Some great headers, some crosses coming into the box. I thought it was quite an exciting game for the TV.

"I thought tonight the supporters would go home happy."

Foyle spoke about the goal.

"I'm pleased for Micah. He's a young boy. Great little leg over and got to the bye-line. Just trying to work on his end product whether it's a shot or a final cross. But the ball came out nicely.

"What a magnificent finish. Brown hasn't played a lot of football. He's been out injured.

"To come in the last ninety minutes like that shows you his attitude to football."

Foyle was prepared to defend the 1-0 lead.

"Look at their bench, look at their strikers. One of their strikers costs all my strikers. They have the fire power.

"If we are winning, we've got to defend it, we went 4-4-2, then 4-5-1 with just Walker up front to chase the long balls.

"The defensive unit was outstanding. Bush took a booking and they were picking on him a little bit.

"But anything that went into the box the two centre-halves were outstanding in terms of closing the ball down and put pressure on the first ball. Tonight they were tight and got in their faces."

Finally Foyle once again mentioned that the club had to live within its means.

"It's down to me to try and find some more gems costing next to nothing.

"You think back to last year. My front four boys and Harry Pell have all gone on to better things.

"You can keep finding these players but sometimes you did that bit of patience."

Spirited Bulls Triumph on Telly

Following Boxing Day’s loss to local rivals Kidderminster Harriers, Bulls boss Martin Foyle made only one change to the starting 11 dropping Frankie Artus in favour of Jon Brown.

Forest Green Rovers kicked off and were the first side to have a shot. Marcus Kelly tried his luck from 20 yards, but the early shot went wide of Daniel Lloyd-Weston’s goal.

Hereford were awarded a free kick minutes into the game, by referee Simon Bennett following a foul on Rankine by Forest’s Rancine. Rod McDonald sent the ball wide with his left footed shot, from Bush’s free kick.

Jon Brown Replaced Frankie Artus In The Starting XI
The Bulls proved the greatest threat in the first period creating a number of chances in front of the cameras. Following some good footwork by Rankine, he allowed Jon Brown to take a shot from the wing, but visiting keeper Sam Russell saved easily. More pressure was to come from the Bulls, and following O’Keefe winning the ball from a clean tackle in midfield, Micah Evans used the wing effectively, only to drag his shot wide.

Michael Rankine Being Watched By Three FGR Defenders
Jon Brown conceded a free kick on the edge of the danger area, following, what looked to be, a very clean challenge. Forest’s Forbes took the free kick and managed to send it right into the wall. The follow up shot was too high to trouble Lloyd-Weston.

Dominic Collins passed down the flank to Burnley loanee Micah Evans. Evans showed determination and managed to cut inside his man and crossed the ball into the heart of the box. The ball made it through a number of bodies in the box until Jon Brown struck the ball cleanly into the bottom left of the Gumpers’ net.

Jon Brown Celebrates His Goal
Forest Green were eager to strike back straight away, when Al Bangura’s snapshot was tipped over the bar by Lloyd-Weston. The following corner was well defended and came to nothing for the visitors.

Chris Sharp won the ball in the heart of the field and carried forward to present a threat to the Gumpers’ defence. His shot from the edge of the box was deflected out for a United corner. Lathrope’s corner was  headed away and saw Forest quickly break on the counter attack. Kelly’s shot was parried by Lloyd-Weston and eventually gathered.

As the first half drew to a close, the Whites created another chance when Rankine flicked onto Sharp who gave the onrushing Brown a goal-worthy chance only for his shot to go wide of the upright.

HT: Hereford 1 – Forest Green Rovers 0

Micah Evans intercepted a pass from the Gumpers’ midfield and took the ball goal-ward. His shot from the right was convincingly caught by Russell.

A period of Forest Green pressure was to follow, ending with a free kick into the box. The on-target ball was parried out for a corner by keeper by Lloyd-Weston. Bush did well to head the ball clear, but Anthony Barry was on hand to strike a ball right into the hands of Lloyd-Weston.

No Hereford Player Could Get On The End Of This Cross From Micah Evans
Rankine and Brown combined well when Rankine crossed the ball into the box to give Brown the chance of getting his second of the game, but he headed the ball wide of the upright for a goal kick.

After returning from his suspension following the incident at Lincoln, Daniel Leadbitter was brought on 22 minutes into the second half to replace Dom Collins. The Gumpers’ also made a change 6 minutes after the Bulls, and substitute Stephen Brogan made an instant impact on the game, when his right footed shot was sent wide.

New Signing Jamie Edge Came On As A Sub
Despite Martin Foyle making more changes to the starting XI, the Bulls couldn’t double their lead. Both teams created chances in the dying stages of the game. Micah Evans won a throw which Leadbitter took short to Lathrope. Lathrope released Evans who skipped past 2 defenders  and into the box, but his low cross come  shot was saved by Russell.

FT: Hereford 1 – Forest Green 0
Att: 1,848 with 150 travelling from Nailsworth.
Sponsors’ MotM: Damon Lathrope.

Hereford: Lloyd-Weston, Collins (Leadbitter 68’), Graham, McDonald, Bush, Evans, O’Keefe, Lathrope, Brown, Rankine (Walker 79’), Sharp (Edge 84). Subs not used: Edwards, Odhiambo.

Forest Green: Russell, Forbes, Racine, Bennett, Asafu-Adjaye, Barry, Bangura, Kelly (Brogan 73’), Taylor (Barnes-Homer 63’), Wright (Alabi 63’), Norwood. Subs not used: Styche, McHugh.

This was a good hardworking performance from the Bulls, who closed down the opposition at every opportunity. Every player gave their all, which was lacking in the first half of the previous game at Kidderminster. Hopefully they can repeat this performance in the next game against the Harriers and redeem themselves after the 2-1 loss at Aggborough earlier in the week. A mention must also be given to the 1698 Hereford supporters who created a very good atmosphere inside Edgar Street this evening – more of this please!

The return fixture of Kidderminster on Wednesday is up next, see you there.

Foyle Delighted With 'Magnificent Three Points'

Martin Foyle Talking To BT Sport
Hereford United manager Martin Foyle was interviewed by BT Sport after tonight's 1-0 victory over Forest Green Rovers.

"Playing two games very very especially Kiddermister who gave us the run round in the first half.

"Today the formation suited certain personnel but give credit to Forest Green they came and throw everything at us and we held on.

"I'm delighted with a magnificent three points."

Foyle was asked about having to play two games in three days.

"We had Christmas Day off because families are important, I've got a lot of boys who come from different areas and they've come all the way to Hereford to play for me.

"After that Kidderminster I knew was going to me a hard game.

"We can all make excuses and say we are tired but today we certainly worked hard and got on with it.

New Years Party Sold Out

The New Years Eve party in the Starlite Rooms is currently a sell-out.

More than double last year's attendance is now expected for the function on Tuesday night. A few late tickets may be available, and anyone without tickets who wants to come is asked to ring the club to register their interest in any late availability.

Meanwhile, the winner of tonight's 50/50 draw - David Glinos - donated £52 of the winnings back to the club.

In charge of the 50/50 tonight, Keith Dodd put the donation into the bucket on the VP Club bar.

Brown Thanks Foyle For Giving Him a Chance

Jon Brown
Hereford United goal scorer Jon Brown was interviewed on BT Sport just after the game ended.

"It was my first game for four or five weeks, I'm just grateful to the gaffer (Martin Foyle) for giving me a chance tonight.

"Hopefully we can go on from here.

"All we can do is work hard on the pitch and the gaffer has had a chat with us as well.

"Hopefully we can stick together as a group and push on from here in the second half of the season."

Later Keith Hall spoke to Brown for BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"I'm buzzing," said Brown.

"I thought all the boys were terrific and I thought we throughly deserved the three points in the end."

Brown scored his goal after winger Micah Evans had passed several FGR players before crossing the ball.

"I think he did it all game long, putting balls into good areas."

As for his goal.

"I had Josh O'Keefe coming behind me and was going to leave it at one point.

"But I thought no, I got my head over the ball and thankfully it went to the bottom corner for me."

Forest Green pushed Hereford in the second half.

"The back four were tremendous, O'Keefe as well.

"The gaffer made the point before the game that if we took the work-rate from the Cambridge game and the second half at Kidderminster into this game then hopefully we could get three points and we proved that."

Danny Leadbitter came on as a sub after his two match suspension.

"It was a bit harsh the two game suspension for himself but Dom Collins has done tremendous as well. There's going to be competition for places."

Finally thanks to the fans.

"They were awesome tonight especially towards the end, like a twelve man.

"A few of us were tired especially me having been out for five weeks.

"Hopefully they will stick with us until the end of thje season."

Full report later.

Results Round-Up

Luton are the new leaders after hammering 10 man Kidderminster 6-0 in today's game. Cambridge drop down to second after a goalless draw at Nuneaton. Grimsby lost ground in going down 3-2 at home to Macclesfield, with Kiddy now 11 points off the top. Halifax moved into sixth with a 5-1 demolition of 10 man Lincoln. Barnet's play-off hopes are fading after two more red cards in their 2-1 loss at Salisbury.

Down the bottom, the Bulls stay 17th after the results so far, with Hyde losing 5-2 at home to Wrexham. Dartford's game with Woking was called off, and Tamworth lost 2-0 at Braintree after also having a man sent off. Chester drew 1-1 with Gateshead to stay in the bottom four. Aldershot beat Welling 3-1 to move clear of danger.

News Round-Up

The Football League are to consult clubs on a return to terracing. Currently Championship clubs cannot have terracing with promoted clubs having to convert their stadiums, which cannot be put back to terracing afterwards. Continental 'rail seats' have been suggested as an alternative, but plans would have to be ratified by Government after clubs meet to discuss the matter in February.

Tranmere fans say they are likely to only raise half the £500,000 required to make a bid for the club. Bidders have until the end of the year to lodge offers for the club, which was put up for sale by owner Peter Johnson. The 73 year old has owned the club for over 25 years and will write off the bulk of £5milllion in loans ahead of a sale, with their Prenton Park home needing substantial investment for repairs.

Ebbsfleet Vice Chairman Peter Varney has denied press claims from Dover boss Chris Kinnear that they are paying £1,000 a week to some players. The two clubs meet today in Conf South after a fiery summer that saw several players swap between the clubs, building animosity between the long-standing rivals. Salisbury have loaned striker Ben Wright to Basingstoke for an initial month. The former Forest Green man has scored six times this season but has fallen out of favour.

Ex-Bull Hargreaves Odds-On For Cobblers Job

Former Bull Chris Hargreaves is the bookies' odds-on favourite to be the new Northampton manager.

Hargreaves is as low as 4/9 to take over at Sixfields, where he played over 150 times for the Cobblers in a four year spell. Now 41, Hargreaves is currently first team coach at Bournemouth after a spell with Exeter's youth department.

He was touted as a replacement for Alan Knill at Torquay, another of his former sides, last month having been seen at one of their home games. The Gulls board opted not to pull the trigger despite their lowly position.

Others in the Cobblers' frame are current caretaker boss Andy King and ex-Gillingham man Martin Allen, while Nuneaton boss Kevin Wilkin is a 28/1 shot.

Keeper Russell Praises Pennock

Forest Green keeper Sam Russell says that new boss Adrian Pennock has brought a 'togetherness' to the squad.

Ahead of tonight's game with the Bulls, he told the Gloucester Citizen: “It is a complete contrast to be honest. He has come in and made an impression and the camp is really good, and we are enjoying it at the minute.

“The togetherness wasn’t really there, so I think he has pulled the squad closer together. He has made a few little adjustments with the training situation and it’s working. Everyone is really positive and I think it is showing on the pitch as well.”

Russell admits the Gumpers haven't started the season well, but they are still aiming to get promoted even if they are nine points shy of fifth place with half the season gone:

“It’s been a very strange season so far and it is still fairly early. The pressure was coming from outside the club, being where we are at the minute, and we are there for a reason.

“The only way is up. If we keep plugging away and getting results here and there I think we will surprise a lot of people again. In the back of our heads promotion is obviously what we want and it is going to be a big ask.”

The Gumpers won their last visit - their first league win in nine attempts at Edgar Street, although they did win a FA Trophy semi-final match in 2001.

Another First For The Bulls

Another chapter in the history of Hereford United takes place this evening.

Whilst it's nowhere near as important as the FA Cup victory over Newcastle in 1972 or that game at the Walkers Stadium which put the Bulls back into the Football League in 2006, tonight sees the first televised game to take place at Edgar Street on a Saturday evening.

(As opposed to the Wigan FA Cup game in November 2002 which kicked off at 5.35 - teatime not evening!)

BT Sport are the TV company involved and they are committed to televising more than 20 Conference matches this season.

The Bulls have already been on BT once this season. However that was a game they might want to forget, a damp Thursday evening at Salisbury where they were defeated 4-1.

However, although the Bulls lost 2-1 at Kidderminster on Boxing Day, they've been on a better run of form having beaten league leaders Cambridge United 1-0 last Saturday.

Meanwhile Forest Green Rovers have disappointed this season to date. Reputed to have one of the highest budgets in the Conference, they currently lie 13th in the table, just four places above the Bulls.

So this evening's game has the potential to be quite exciting, perhaps more so for the Bulls with so many young players in their squad looking to further their careers in front of the cameras.

The bookies feel Forest Green might win this game.

For example BetVictor is quoting the following prices:

Hereford 9/5 Draw 12/5 Forest Green 6/4

However the best price for a Hereford win is 19/10 with William Hill. A draw is 13/5 with Bet365.

Finally Hereford United are hoping for a decent crowd this evening with several money-off offers available.

Firstly adults wanting to watch both this evening's game and New Year Day's game against Kidderminster can do so for just £20, but that's only in the Meadow End and Len Weston terrace.

Youngsters can watch this evening's game for just £1.

The club are also hoping that season tickets holders might consider paying to watch the game which would help the appeal to raise £35,000 to contribute to this months wage bill. Collection buckets are expected to be taken around the ground and in the bars.

For those unable to watch the game live, it will be on BT Sport from 7pm. And as ever BBC Hereford and Worcester will cover the game along with Bulls Player.

But none of them are any substitute to watching it live.

Kick-off is at 7.30pm.

Leadbitter Available For Forest Green Match

Leadbitter At Lincoln Last Month
Hereford United manager Martin Foyle will have at least one selection decision to make before kick-off against Forest Green Rovers tomorrow evening.

Right back Danny Leadbitter is available again after suspension but Foyle has played Dom Collins in that position for the last two games and may be reluctant to change personnel.

Leadbitter picked up his suspension after a water bottle squirting incident at Lincoln. It happened after a nasty challenge by Ben Tomlinson who was shown a red card for his efforts. Also suspended was physio Jonny Evans.

It's understood some Lincoln supporters goaded Leadbitter and Evans as they stood in front of the Co-op stand awaiting the referee call for Leadbitter to return to the game.

It's thought an incident of this nature would have only resulted in a one match ban for the two men.

The referee at the game, Jason Whiteley, took no action at the time so the incident must have been reported to the officials after the game or possibly to the FA by Lincoln a couple of days later.

The Lincoln match took place on November 23rd and Leadbitter played for the Bulls in the games on November 26th against Halifax and on December 7th against Nuneaton before his suspension came into effect.

It's not been revealed why there was such a long delay in announcing the bans.  However the fact that Chris Sharp was recalled from Lincoln to Edgar Street on December 19th may be connected. He had only started his second month on loan with the Imps eight days earlier.

Donations Pass £13,000 Mark

Bulls chairman David Keyte has told the official site that the club have now received £13,000 in donations.

Fans raised £3,000 in the opening 48 hours after the appeal went out, and added over £6,500 on the day of the Cambridge win. Another £3,500 has now been added to the fund in the week since with Keyte telling the site:

"The board and I are committed to making sure that success is restored to this great club, we have a wonderful history that not many other clubs can boast, and we have fantastic and loyal supporters, as the response to this appeal highlights."

News Round-Up

Luton midfielder Jonathan Smith is expected to miss the rest of the season after breaking a leg in two places in their win over Barnet yesterday. The game was held up for several minutes as Smith was treated, with boss John Still calling hearing the sound of the break 'sickening'. The Hatters have released midfielder Arnaud Mendy by mutual consent. The former Macclesfield man cost the Hatters £40,000 in January but hasn't played for them since March with boss Still saying he wouldn't play for the club again.

Macclesfield have announced contract extensions for midfielders Paul Turnbull and Paul Lewis to the end of the season. Ex-Stockport man Turnbull has been a regular this season, while youngster Lewis only signed pro forms in the summer and has started only one game. Kidderminster have loaned striker Nathan Blissett to Hednesford for an initial month. The 23 year old has started only three games this season.

Trust Prediction League Update

This from the Trust:

A game of two halves, with almost all the play towards the away end, maybe shooting towards the home fans was as simple as pushing custard up a hill with a fork? The first half seemed as if our mighty bulls had been pushing too much custard into their mouth in their celebrations the day before. Sadly the second half huff & puff was not enough to recover from the first half disparity. Kidderminster were the victors by 2 goals to 1. Bad times, although the prediction league is now up to date, good times!

We had 90 predictors for this game, with the result split almost equally, 30% went for a Bulls victory, 39% for a draw & 31% for a Kiddy win. Of the 28 who got the result correct, 13 got the score spot on and picked up 5 points, with the remaining 15 getting at least 3 points before bonuses. There were 55 bonus points awarded, with 37 points given out for the correct number of HUFC goals, 4 for the correct margin (-1) & 14 for the inverse score-line.

In the table the lead has changed hands for the fourth game in a row, with Kick in the Bullsnow leading the way once again on 83 points, 2.5 clear of the next competitor, Barry the Hatchet who has climbed up two positions, DORSET BULL is next 1 points ahead of former leader Terry Jackins, with ROGER LUNDBERG completing the top 5. Our biggest movers werengwilliam & mikey50boy who both picked up 16 positions after getting the maximum points on offer for the correct score-line.

Our monthly table is taking shape, with one game remaining MPG2000 leads the way with 10 points so far this December, in joint second place, 1 point behind is Llubyllub & November prize winner Arch of Lemner, with Barry the Hatchet Tricky Tree a further point back. Yet, the monthly prize is still anyone’s for the taking, with a lack of games in December meaning a low scoring month along with the previous cup failures, we just have the DOUBLE POINTS game at the end of the month to decide who will be gaining our December top points scorer accolade.

So our next game is TOMORROW EVENING at home on the Telly to Forest Green, and as mentioned, this game is a DOUBLE POINTS ROUND! Make sure to get those predictions in to us here using predictions@hufctrust.co.uk – we’re all hoping for a win against the Gumpers to go into the new year on a high!

The table is up to date, over on our prediction league page, go have a click & look. Then why not go have a look at what we as a Trust have been up to, in our news section.

One Win In Five On Road For Pennock

Forest Green boss Adrian Pennock has won only one of five away games since becoming their boss in mid-November.

The former Stoke coach, who has ex-Bulls coach Dave Kevan as his assistant, has won four of five home matches, but has struggled for results on the road so far and the three goals they put past Aldershot at the New Lawn on Boxing Day were their first goals in four games.

One former Bull not making the trip is midfielder Paul Green, despite being brought back into the fold after Dave Hockaday's dismissal. He was sent off in the loss at Halifax and will serve the second game of a three match ban tomorrow.

James Norwood is the Gumpers' top scorer, netting his tenth of the season on Boxing Day, with the rest of the club's dozen strikers getting no more than six. Andy Mangan, reputedly on £3,000 a week, has started only three games since signing from Fleetwood Town in the summer - the last in October - and is yet to score for his new side.

Pennock made another forward, Scunthorpe loanee James Alabi, the club's 25th player used this season. The former Welling boss has already told fans he wants a busy January transfer window, with taller players on his radar, but admits he will be hampered by the contracts some of his unwanted players are on.

Kids For A Quid Tomorrow Night

Not only is tomorrow's game a 'Kids for a Quid' game, but the club are holding a fancy dress competition for junior supporters.

Under 15's are being let into the TV game against Forest Green, kick off 7.30pm, for £1 - and Edgar the Bull is judging the best fancy dress at half time so get the kids dressed up and on camera!

Adult tickets are also available at a discount double with the New Years Day clash with Kidderminster. Tickets for the Meadow End and Len Weston terraces are available online for £20 for both games, saving £4. The offer is available here (link).

We Let Ourselves Down First Half Said O'Keefe

Josh O'Keefe has admitted that the Hereford players let themselves down in the first half at Aggborough this afternoon.

"We were really slow to get out of the box today," O'Keefe told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"Shot ourselves in the foot really going in 2-0 down and gave ourselves a lot to do.

"We were full of confidence going into the game after our victory over Cambridge.

"We let ourselves down first-half.

"They played some really good football but it felt as if we allowed them to.

"Then second-half we really got at them and didn't give them as much time and space on the ball.

"There were a few words said at half-time and they got a reaction.

"We know as players we shouldn't have played like that, we should never have gone in in that position.

"When the goal went in I thought we would go on and get an equaliser but obviously today it wasn't meant to be."

Fans Team Beaten By KHIST In Charity Game

This from HUST:
A Bulls fan side lost 4-2 to the counterparts from the Kidderminster Harriers Trust (KHIST) in a charity match this morning.

In what was to be a copy of the main game in the afternoon the KHIST side, who play several times a season, raced into a 3-0 half time lead. The Bulls team, many of whom hadn't met before the game, acquitted themselves better in the second half. They scored twice to win the second half but eventually lost 4-2.
The game was organised in aid of Macmillan, with former KHIST chairman Steve Millington having died from cancer a short while ago, raising £227.51 for the charity.

Bulls team organised Chris Oleksy intends to make the fans side a more permanent addition to the calendar. They will play in HUST badged kit, with the cost of the kit being met by a sponsor. Anyone wishing to potentially play for the side in future games is asked to contact Chris by email to chris_hufc@hotmail.co.uk
