TV audience set for close encounter

Tomorrow night sees Conference surprise-package Woking host Hereford United at the Kingfield Stadium, kick off 7.45pm.

The Cards were widely tipped to drop out of the league this season but have hit the dizzy heights of second place at the early stage of the season, proving the doubters wrong.

However, Hereford haven't started badly and their record in televised matches, the game is live on Sky Sports 1, is very good over the past few years - a close game is likely to be in store.

Woking boss Geoff Chapple has been instrumental in the Cards' success and he hopes to emulate his record at the club in his first spell as boss, where he won the FA Trophy three times.

Ex-Woking midfielder and current Hereford top scorer Jamie Pitman with four goals told the Non-League Paper: "I don't feel as though I have to prove myself to anyone there. I got on with most people at the club and still look out for their results. I hope they finish as high up the table as possible - as long as it's one below us!

"We didn't have a game in midweek so we're champing at the bit to play Woking and I'm really looking forward to it."
