Bulls shoot back up to sixth

Hereford United have beaten Aldershot Town 2-0 in the Conference this afternoon, with goals coming from Danny Carey-Bertram (although it has been credited as a Brett Johnson own-goal) just after the hour mark, and a late strike from substitute David Brown.

The result moves Hereford into sixth place in the table, and they are now just two points behind second-placed Carlisle United.

Speaking after the match to Peter McMillan of BBC Hereford & Worcester, United skipper Tony James was delighted with the victory: "It is a difficult to place to come, and three points with all the results yesterday was a must.

"We got into some great positions, it was a tight contest, and we were hoping to nick one in the first half. We've sucked up a bit of pressure, and defended well, and we've always been able to get onto teams when under pressure. We played a team full of pace, and it worked well for us."

Of David Brown's injury-time strike: "It was a cracking finish. It was a great strike from a few yards, we were under pressure in the last ten minutes but I think we managed to see it off really well."

Also, despite some technical problems early on, BBC Hereford & Worcester's online coverage was a success, and it is hoped that more games may be covered this way in the future.
