Little profit from Trophy tie

Although Hereford United will bank £4,000 for defeating Accrington Stanley last night, the poor attendance of only 710 will do little to swell the bank balance. With the away team receiving half of the gate money after expenses, it is likely that the Bulls have lost money on the night without the prize money.

The Bulls will have to wait until this evening to find out who they will meet in the fourth round as Hyde United and Whitby Town replay their tie to find out who travels to Edgar Street.

The prize money for the fourth round is £5,000 for the winning club. The game will be played on February 5th.

Danny Williams was stretched off the field during the second-half of the tie with a lower leg injury. However it is not yet known how serious the injury is.

Adam Stansfield was also taken off as he appeared to have taken a knock to a leg and Danny Carey-Bertram pulled up with cramp shortly before the end of the game but carried on as the Bulls had used all three subs by then. Rob Purdie who came on during the second period looked sharp after his spell on the injury list.

Meanwhile Hereford United dropped to sixth place in the Conference table last night as Aldershot, who defeated Farnborough 2-1 last night, moved into third place.
