John Snape, the former Hereford United midfielder, has taken over as temporary manager at Worcester City.
Snape, who is the clubs' player coach, has been put in charge following the surprise departure of manager John Barton who left the club after five and a half years in charge last night.
Worcester have not had the best of seasons so far and now lie fifteenth in the Conference North. They are expected to name a new manager within the next few weeks.
Snape, or Snapper as he was known at Edgar Street, left Hereford when manager Graham Turner had his big clear out a couple of seasons ago in May 2002. Always very enthusiastic when playing, Snape made 147 appearances for the Bulls and scored ten goals.
