Another former Hereford United player, Gavin Williams, is expected to be in the next Welsh squad. New manager John Toshack will reveal his thinking for the future when he names his party for the February 9 Millennium Stadium friendly with Hungary.
According to the Western Mail Toshack has been impressed with both Williams and also former Chester star Danny Collins.
Midfielder Williams, from Merthyr, has made an impression on Toshack since his £150,000 move to Upton Park from Yeovil. He started his career at Edgar Street before moving to the Somerset club.
Williams, like Collins, has become a regular in the Championship and has helped West Ham move right up towards the play-off places.
At some point, Toshack will aim to pair Williams with West Ham clubmate Carl Fletcher, who has already done well with Wales under Toshack's predecessor Hughes.
Collins was instantly identified by Chester boss Ian Rush and his No 2 Mark Aizlewood as a Welsh player for the future when they took over at the Deva Stadium.
