With the announcement of the date of the Forest Green game, here is a list of matches to be played in April so far as is known this morning.
April 2nd Stevenage Conf Away 3pm
April 9th York Conf Home 3pm
April 12th Forest Green Conf Away 7.45pm
April 16th Halifax Conf Away 3pm
April 19th Woking Conf Away 7.45pm
April 23rd Accrington Stanley Conf Home 3pm
This list will be updated if Hereford United defeat Hucknall Town in the Trophy game next Saturday. The semi-finals of the Trophy, which is over two legs, takes place on April 2nd and April 9th.
At present April 5th is a free Tuesday for Hereford. However Stevenage are due to play Woking that evening and York are due to play Carlisle. So that date can not be used, should it be required, as far as is known at present.
Part of the problems stems from the Conference management whom, in their wisdom, decided to bring forward the end of the season by a week. Confguide reported the change at the time:
All fixtures for 30th April will be rescheduled, with that date being used for the play-off semi-finals 1st leg.
When the fixtures were first announced, many people expressed concern that there were only two days between the last day of the Conference league season (30th April) and the play-off semi-final 1st legs (2nd May). This would leave no time for advance ticketing, and would leave little time for player recovery.
The sensible decision has been made to alter the dates. The games currently scheduled for 30th April will be moved (presumably to a midweek date). The final games will therefore be 23rd April, with play-offs starting a week later (30th).
The promotion play-off 2nd legs will be on Thursday 5th May.
