Credit to Hucknall

Hereford United supporters leaving Hucknall last night were wondering how a team can go away to Barnet and defeat the league leaders then fail to get through a round in the Trophy against lower league opposition.

The Bulls looked either unable or unwilling to take on the opposition and many fans were questioning whether their was any real intention of trying to win the game.

However at least two Conference games can now go ahead on the original dates and there is only the date of the Carlisle match to be confirmed. The outstanding Cup game against Kington has to be played sometime but as the Hereford FA have not, as yet, fixed a date for the final of this local cup there appears to be no urgency to play this game.

Hucknall Town should be praised for their performance both on and off the pitch. For a part-time side their players looked fit and didn't appear to be over-tired towards the end of the game. There are several players in their side who could probably play at a higher level.

The ground was quite tidy, parking easy, and even the programme which had been rushed out for the game was a credit to the club (even if the Bulls were called the motormen). The food was better than at Edgar Street and the toilets had lights that worked. Only the poor floodlights let them down.

Hucknall Town will play Bishop's Stortford in the semi-final of the Trophy. Good luck to them.
