Stevenage have advantage says Westley

Stevenage manager Graham Westley believes that his side have the psychological advantage going into Friday's play off semi final 2nd leg against Hereford.

"I think that they had settled for a 1.0 win, repeating what they did here in the league. But our lads just weren't having that. They set out their stall to search for goals and deservedly scored the equaliser. That is twice now in 3 games that we have scored in the last 3 minutes against them," Westley told his Official Website.

Westley revealed that he always believed that a win might be needed in the away leg.

"We set out plans before these games believing that we might need to win away. So, we are in a good frame of mind. Our record in must win games has been good on the whole. We won at Aldershot, at Carlisle, at Woking and at Crawley in the run in. All tough grounds to visit. But we have a team with the experience to do these things. A lot will come down to experience now. And to ambition".

Westley knows that promotion will be a huge achievement for a smaller club like Stevenage. "We may not have the numbers of fans but the crowd on Monday once again showed our potential. And our supporters showed massive desire.

"Everybody in the ground was commenting on the quite brilliant atmosphere. There will be an army there on Friday night and I know from past experience how fabulous our fans are at times like this. What a brilliant time this is".
