Goalkeeper Brown set for loan

Chester keeper Wayne Brown is set to join Hereford United on a one year loan spell according to icCheshireOnline. As of yet, the position of trialist Clint Davies, who played the whole game against Ludlow last night is unknown.

Chester manager Keith Curle told icCheshireOnline that he had come to an arrangement with Hereford. "The loan arrangement has been agreed between my chairman and Hereford manager, Graham Turner, we wish Wayne well with his new club."

Brown started his career as a youngster with Bristol City but after one appearence he was released and he joined Weston-Super-Mare. In 1996 he joined Chester and slowly worked his way to getting in the first team. Brown made 50 appearences in Chester's relegation season of 1999/200. He has plenty of Conference experience making with over 150 appearences for Chester. He made 23 starts in Chester's return to League Two last year and also made appearences in the FA Cup and Carling Cup. Now 28, the six foot 'keeper joins Hereford with plenty of experience including six caps with the semi-professional England team, he will be looking to challenge current Hereford goalkeeper Craig Mawson for the number one jersey at Edgar Street.
