The Back The Bulls Lottery (BTBL) is going all out this coming season to increase the number of supporters taking part which in turn will increase the prize money and help Hereford United at the same time.
The Lottery used to be called the Save The Bulls Lottery but as the financial position at Edgar Street has improved the decision to change the name was taken.
BTBL is an official Hereford United project. It has been quite successful in making money for the club and currently takes around £400 a month from entries. However the potential is enormous and so a "push" to increase membership is to be launched shortly.
The lottery is sponsored by PDS Recruitment. They back the Lottery with
donations towards the costs of producing posters and leaflets and it is with their help that posters will be placed all around Edgar Street. Co-inciding with the poster campaign there will be do a mass leaflet hand-out at some of the opening games of the season. There will also be a stand at the pre-season open day.
In future all draws for the Lottery will be made on match days, either before the game or at half-time to increase fans awareness of the lottery. The aim is to increase the takings four-fold this season.
For anyone who might want to support the lottery but is unable to get to Edgar Street, the intention is that supporters will be able to sign up on the Official Website through on-line banking.
One of the problems facing those who run the lottery is how to have the draws on the pitch. Currently the winner is picked using a using a random number generator program on a PC which although very efficient would not be a very impressive spectacle on a football pitch at half-time! So they are looking for a new idea which is simple and looks impressive at the same time!
More details about the lottery can be found on the Official Hereford United Website.
