Hereford United have today confirmed that West Ham defender Darren Blewitt has joined the club on a one year loan deal. The nineteen year old is six foot two and will provide cover for United at the back.
Darren Blewitt was in Norwich's Under-12s schoolboy side in 1997/98. He later joined West Ham where he has become a centre-back. He spent the spring of 2005 on loan to League Two side Southend but only featured once as a substitute.
When he joined Southend, Paul Brush assistant manager spoke about the loanee defender Blewitt after he had played his first game.
"We've seen Darren play a number of times for West Ham reserves, he's uncompromising, and having settled in OK he should do well. He's got a great attitude and can head the ball and play with his feet."
