Graham Turner's latest addition to his squad is thirty- one year old Stacey Coldicott from Grimsby, where his contract expired at the end of last season. He has signed a two year deal with United and is the sixth signing of the season.
Coldicott was born in Worcestershire and worked his way through the youth ranks at West Bromwich after joining as a trainee. He was at the Hawthorns for seven seasons although he was loaned out to Cardiff City for a short spell in autumn 1996.
After Grimsby returned to the first division in 1998, he was signed from West Brom for about £125,000 and has made over 160 League appearances for the Mariners.
Coldicott,a 5ft 11in tought tackling, defensive midfielder weighing just over 11 stone, will be known to John Trewick as they will have been at West Bromwich together in the mid-ninties.
The experience that Coldicott offers could be invaluable to The Bulls this season. With a total of 259 league appearences under his belt, including 64 at West Brom and 189 at Grimsby, there is no doubting his ability, and so he should have no problems fitting into the Conference.
Colidcott has all ready demostrated what he is all about in his two pre-season appearances for United, where he has impressed fans greatly. His signing will be very welcome news for supporters of Hereford United.
