Fans start their fund-raising trip

Earlier this morning four Hereford United supporters left St Michaels on the first day of their fund-raising trip to raise funds for the Hospice.

The four are hoping to visit all 92 League clubs and arrive back in Hereford well before the end of next Saturday's cup-tie with Westfields.

The plan started off as an idea last winter and by chance they spoke to Lyn Gummer at St Michaels and she told them that the Premier League Trophy was coming to Barclays Bank in Hereford.

She invited them to have their photo taken with the Trophy and that spurred the four into finalsing their plans.

And this morning at 7am the four supporters set out on day one of their trip. By 8am Kevin Morris, Matthew Copping, Adrian Herbert and Tim Harris were hoping to be at their first club, Cheltenham Town.

In all they plan to travel around 700 miles today. The four will share the driving in a KIA Sedona people carrier which has been donated to them for the week by Kia Motors UK.

Of the 92 clubs only 7 have not yet agreed to meet the four, but they are still hoping to get something from these clubs.

The kind of response depends on the club but two examples from the North West should encourage the four supporters.

Blackburn are hopefully arranging Ronny Clayton, ex-captain and English international, to meet them and at Preston, they will be met by Deepdale the Duck!

The four supporters have already collected over £3,000. Their aim is £5,000.

With your help they should acheive their target.

Donating through this site http://www.justgiving.com/92footychallenge
is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor them: St Michael's Hospice (Hereford) will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
