Hereford United will look forward to the coming season knowing that they are under pressure to go one better than last season and win the Conference outright.
The last two seasons have brought heartache, both to the club and their supporters. To reach the play-offs two years in a row but fail at the last hurdle has been a hard pill to swallow.
However Graham Turner has put together a squad of 21 for this campaign which, certainly on paper, has the potential to make it third time lucky for the Bulls.
Hereford have nine new players available to be choosen for today's game against Scarborough together with twelve from the last campaign. Although Pitman and Travis will miss because of injury, and new signing Coldicott is a doubt, there is plenty of competition for a place today.
"We lost two players we would like to have kept but things move on and I am quite happy with the calibre of those we have brought in," Turner told the Western Daily Press.
"The bookmakers have made us pre-season favourites and it all adds to the pressure."
Meanwhile Turner has spoken about Kidderminster. He expects them to do quite well this season in the Conference and thinks manager Stuart Watkiss has made some good signings.
A couple of their new players had been tracked by Hereford, Turner told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
Watkiss was beleived to have applied for the job of coach at Edgar Street after Richard O'Kelly moved on.
