Some of the details for the LDV Cup have been announced.
According to (tounge in cheek) Ciderspace:
Forty-eight League One and League Two clubs will be "putting out a strong side" whilst twelve Conference clubs will pretend they have a strong side to put out. The plucky Non-leaguers are: Accrington Stanley, Aldershot Town, Cambridge United, Crawley Town, Dagenham & Redbridge, Exeter City, Halifax Town, Bottlers Bulls******* Hereford United, Kidderminster Harriers, Morecambe, Farnborough Town's Arsenal Windfall Stevenage Borough and Woking.
As usual there will be a North and South regional divide, which because of the need to balance those in the different divisions (if we may still use such old fashioned terminology) will doubtless produce a number of clubs in the Southern Section who are geographically north of a number of clubs in the Northern Section. Two (lucky?) clubs from each area will be given byes through to the second round. As yet neither the sections nor the byes has been published by the Football League. Keeping us on the edge of our seats no doubt and building up the tension.......
The draw for the first round will be made on September 17th during Soccer AM on Sky.
