Conference News Round-Up

Crawley have parted company with well travelled ex-Morecambe winger Lee Elam. The 29 year old played in half of Crawley's matches so far this season, but has struggled with injury since joining them, his seventh Conference club, in the summer. Two players played their 500th game for their Clubs last night - Burton's Darren Stride, and Gravesend's Jimmy Jackson both completed the milestone. Stride, 30 today, joined Burton's senior side in 1993 from their youth section. Former Charlton trainee Jackson rejoined Gravesend a year ago after a season at Dagenham and is in his 12th year with the Club. Accrington are to appeal against the dismissal of Chris Butler in last night's match with Morecambe. The defender was dismissed after just four minutes for a professional foul, but manager John Coleman believes the foul did not warrant a red card as there was no goalscoring opportunity.
