With cheap childrens' admission a regular feature on the forums, the Football League have today announced a "Kids Go Free" nationwide initiative.
34 Clubs have so far agreed to allow kids in for free when accompanied by an adult for any League match, with six more Clubs offering selected matches and more Clubs likely to sign up.
Last season, Preston offered free admission to under 8's and saw memberships in that age group rise from 86 to 948 with 80% regularly attending matches, with 69% of those who exceeded the age limit for this season buying a season ticket instead.
Football League crowds hit a 45 year high last season, compared with the dwindling Premiership gates so far this season.
