Conference News Round-Up

Under pressure Crawley manager Francis Vines rounded on goalkeeper Scott Ward after Saturday's FA Cup defeat at home to Braintree: "For 25 minutes we had total control, then Scott decided to throw in a pathetic effort. It was an absolute disgrace and from then on the whole lot were a disgrace". Meanwhile, midfielder Richard Hodgson claims he is being forced out of the club: "I don't want to go into the nitty-gritty but the owners are basically not happy with what I'm getting paid and want to cancel my contract. I have been offered a payment but it is embarrassing. I have a two-year contract, so I'm not just going to agree to have it terminated and then be out of a job... The owners are trying to force me out. They are making me come in at eight in the morning every day and train on my own."

Cambridge manager Rob Newman warned his squad that there will be wholesale changes if things don't start to improve. Most of the Cambridge squad are on short term deals and, following a similar warning last month after five straight defeats, Newman made changes that brought a four match unbeaten run. Cambridge lie just three points off the bottom of the table, and have used 25 players already this season.

Burton have let teenage striker Eric Graves move on loan to Gresley Rovers for a month. Graves has played four times for Burton this season, the last time being as a sub at Edgar Street nine days ago.

Forest Green have signed Tamworth forward Julian Alsop on loan for three months. Alsop previously spent time at The Lawn last season after being sacked by Oxford but was later released after the FA imposed a ban for his unspecified banana related activities.
