Following a lack of highlights from last weeks Conference programme, Conferencefootball.tv have now issued a very brief statement declaring "technical problems" have stopped them updating the site.
In October, the site pleaded for 10,000 fans a month to support the service by using the Totalbet affiliate service advertised on the site in order to keep the site free of charge. That plea would have required nearly half of all regular Conference match supporters to frequent the site monthly.
While their highlights packages have received praise, the service has come under constant criticism from fans over their attempts to broadcast live matches. Several games have been broadcast only in part due to technical errors and bandwidth problems, and Stevenage Chairman Phil Wallace refused their cameras entry to Broadhall Way for their announced live coverage in September, refusing to give free access to the service after 18 months of trials.
The service was relaunced in the summer of 2004 after the original subscription site went bust owing hundreds of subscribers money. That site posted messages noting "technical problems" just before it went down permanently.
There is the possibility that the Conference has finally found a return to mainstream television, having briefly had a Sky Sports highlights package before the internet streaming experiments started. This site speculated in October that the requirement to spread Premiership rights over several broadcasters would lead to television opportunities for the Conference.
