Crawley taken to Tribunal

Crawley Town, who travel to Edgar Street next Saturday for a Conference fixture against Hereford United, are being taken to an employment tribunal by three former employees.

Former manager Francis Vines, his assistant Dave Swindlehurst and administration manager Ian Holman have all lodged claims against the club, following their dismissals this season according to Crawley Today.

Vines, considered by fans to be the most successful manager in their history, was sacked in October, only three months into a new three-year contract.

Crawley are now managed by John Hollis and owned by the SA Group. They recently withdrew an offer of a two-year contract to midfielder Simon Wormull, who is said to be about to leave the club.

"Before John Hollins arrived a contract was offered to me and I was happy with it. It was not as if I was hounding the SA Group for a new contract. They said they had looked at mine and would like to offer me a new one. We talked and I thought we had agreed it and then I heard nothing for a long time. That is when I started to get worried. Now we have come to the January window and I have to ask what is going on?" said Wormull.
