Tamworth have signed former Premiership winger Nicky Sumerbee, and are chasing former Villa and Celtic striker Tommy Johnson as well.
Summerbee, 34, had brief spells with Swindon and Tranmere this season, but is mostly known for his seven years with Man City and Sunderland - who both paid seven figure sums for his services.
Johnson, 35, most recently was part of the Scunthorpe side that lost 2-0 at Edgar Street in the LDV Trophy, but cost over £5million in transfer fees in a career that included a four year stint with Celtic.
Tamworth, with four players suspended and three long term injury victims bringing the squad down to barebones, have signed Sheff Utd defender Dominic Roma on loan and fellow Blade Ben Starosta on work experience, as well as goalkeeper Sean Bowles from Coalville Town.
