They looked sharper than us said Newman

Cambridge United manager, Rob Newman, was disappointed with his sides performance last night at Edgar Street. The following quotes are from the Official Cambridge Website.

"It was a very disappointing game. I think the two goals we conceded in the first half were their first two shots on target. It's not good enough. We had a goal disallowed and we had a shot hit the bar, but they scored the first goal

"It looked promising until they scored the first goal and then we succumbed after that, and very badly. They looked sharper than us all over the pitch and we've questioned their desire and their attitude tonight; maybe that's something we've got to analyse.

"We've just had a long talk in the dressing room and I thought Jon Brady is the only one who comes out with any credit because he showed a lot of effort tonight and a lot of work rate.

"They've got to wake up and smell the coffee pretty sharpish because I can handle lack of technical ability but one thing I can't handle is surrendering. I can handle losing if they show passion but not lack of effort and it's very disappointing.

"We looked better for the last half an hour but the game was over and we were 3-0 down by then so that's not even an issue."
