Wright Returns To Chester

Mark Wright has returned to Chester as manager until the end of the season.

In a shock move with fans choosing another ex-Chester manager, Graham Barrow, as their favoured candidate, Wright has signed a deal barely 18 months after an acrimonious departure from the Deva Stadium.

Back then, Chairman Stephen Vaughan accused Wright of signing players to large contracts without board approval and forcing the budget beyond acceptable levels, leading to Wright quitting before a league match was played. It now appears that Vaughan has changed his mind on the manager, though the disasterous run under Keith Curle, where Chester won just three points in 36, has seen them drop to just four points above the relegation zone.
