Crawley Owe February Wages

It has been confirmed that Crawley have not paid their players for February.

With the owners denying that the club may enter Administration, the club has confirmed that the players, and all other club staff, received letters at the start of the week telling them of the 50% cut in wages.

Chairman Chas Majeed stated to The Argus: "It is a mess and I have to clear it up. It would be fine if we were just paying 20 per cent of the wages but at the moment 90 per cent of the bills go on wages."

Should the 90% figure be correct, Crawley may well be subject to a penalty from the Conference for exceeding the squad budget rules.

It is reported that the full squad trained today, but it is believed seven of the players have already indicated that they will leave early next week.
