Interviewed after the game by Sky Sports, here's a little of what Hereford United manager Graham Turner had to say:
"I think relief is the first feeling. We've been so close on several occasions and it's been a long and hard nine years for us to get back in there and the overwhelming feeling right at the moment is releif.
"There is the joy and the excitement of seeing the supporters celebrating, they're terrific scenes for us.
"We've taken a massive following here - nearly 10,000 - and they're enjoying every minute of it."
Asked about the comeback Turner continued:
"We've done it quite consistantly since Christmas.
"To come back from the goals that they scored just showed the character in the side.
"There was some cracking goals and I thought it was a good game.
"In fairness to Halifax, they are a good side. Chris Wilder has done a magnificent job there.
"But it's our day today. It'll be their day another day."
Remimded that his side had to work hard to win Turner said:
"We had them watched on video. We knew they were a well orgainsed, highly motivated side. So we had to be at our best to beat them.
"We had a slow start to the game. We never got into it. But as the game went on I'm pleased that the young lads started to play and we did okay."
Asked whether as Chairman he might have had to sack himself if they had lost:
"I thought about it, beleive it or not. It's been a long time these nine years. It's been heart-breaking at times but we're there. We'll forget about everything else for a few days."
