Former Bulls player and manager Ian Bowyer has joined Rushden as Assistant Manager to his former Notts Forest colleague Paul Hart.
Bowyer, 54, played 40 times for the Bulls over three seasons, initially as player-coach under John Newman then as player-manager. He left the Bulls under a cloud after winning the club's only 'major' piece of silverware for 15 years - the Welsh Cup - in 1990 after his son refused to sign professional forms with the club and departed for Notts Forest for nothing.
More recently he has been a coach with Birmingham and Notts Forest, and left a post as No.2 to Danny Wilson at MK Dons in February as they attempted to halt their slide towards League Two.
