Chester City's £50,000 move for Doncaster midfielder Ricky Ravenhill has collapsed.
Twelve days after Chester officially confirmed Ravenhill as a signing, and issuing the player with a squad number, Doncaster have called off the deal. An official statement reads: "Rovers Director of Football Mickey Walker confirmed that after delays by Chester City in the signing of midfielder Ricky Ravenhill, the transfer had been called off. Ricky will be placed back on the list and all clubs will be notified."
The move comes days after Chester Chairman Stephen Vaughan placed a block on incoming transfers after just 269 people attended a pre-season friendly with a top Belgian side, costing the club thousands.
In other news, Bristol Rovers have finalised the signing of Bristol City goalkeeper Steve Phillips on a two year deal. Lincoln have signed Shrewsbury striker Mark Stallard, also on a two year contract. Mansfield have signed veteran 'keeper Carl Muggleton on a free transfer from Chesterfield.
