Chester have completed the signings of £50,000 Doncaster midfielder Ricky Ravenhill and Exeter midfielder Glen Cronin on a free.
Boss Mark Wright has also spoken to a Premiership club over a season long loan for a goalkeeper and another goalkeeper who "featured in the World Cup", and is giving a trial to French midfielder Ismael Rhazdis, 19.
Swindon boss Dennis Wise has recruited England masseur Steve Slattery to aid their forthcoming season. "Dennis has asked me to help out and I will be happy to do so. If the players are working as hard as I think they will be under Dennis, they will be glad of a good massage." Slattery told the Swindon Advertiser.
Peterboro boss Keith Alexander has been told to bring in whoever he wants to after the club sold young defender Sean St Ledger to Preston for an initial £225,000. St Ledger, 21, was the player allegedly abused by Mark Wright that cost the current Chester boss his job.
Bristol Rovers may end up at Forest Green next season. The club are looking for a temporary move while the Memorial Ground undergoes refurbishment and, after fans protested at the possibilty of using Bristol City's Ashton Gate, the Gumpers may have tenants for the 2007-8 season.
Midfielder Ashley Nicholls has left Rushden. Nicholls may be remembered by Bulls fans as the 'one that got away' in the summer of 2002, prompting Graham Turner to field triallists under aliases after Nicholls was spotted, and signed, by a Darlington scout after watching the player at Edgar Street.
