Bulls start better than Milkmen

Accrington Stanley haven't had the best start to life in League Two with two defeats in two matches.

They have yet to score and lie bottom bar one (surprisingly Stockport County) in League Two.

Their form may well improve but what must be worrying for them is the poor support at their first two games and the financial implications that could mean.

Last Saturday they took about 800 fans to Chester, a local game for them. Last night just 2667 watched their first home game in the League since 1962 and visitors Darlington are said to have brought over 700 fans with them.

Contrast the support Hereford United received last night when 4405 fans watched the game at Edgar Street Although Lincoln brought 246 with them, the home support for the Bulls was over twice that at Accrington.

Roughly the income for the Bulls last night would be around £17,000 more than for Accrington.

Although the Bulls failed to take a point last night, it was an entertaining game to watch which suggests there should be an even higher gate for Saturday's game against Chester City who are expected to bring around 500 fans with them.
